Prof. Drechsler holds the chair of Governance at the RNS. His research interests concerning the LIPSE project concern challenges and questions raised by the Schumpeterian definition of innovation for PSI, as well as the relation of economic and public governance surges; he also deals with Web 2.0 Governance. He has been involved on the European level in several responses to this issue (Lisbon Strategy, Europa 2020, ESF paper on the future of the social sciences in Europe). Recently, he published in the NISPAcee Journal of Public Administration and Policy (2010) an article on the significance of nanotechnology for governance and public management. Drechsler recently received an Honorary Doctorate in social sciences from Corvinus University Budapest for his theoretical and comparative work in public policy and management.
