Prof. Geert Bouckaert is professor of public management at the KU Leuven Public Governance Institute. His research focusses on international comparisons of public sector reform and innovative forms of performance management in OECD countries. He is President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), and between 2004-2010 he was president of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA). In 2014 he was awarded the Anneliese Maier Research Award (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation), and has been awarded six honorary doctorates, amongst others from the Tallinn University of Technology, the Corvinus University of Budapest and the University of Lausanne. One of his major publication (together with Christopher Pollitt) is Public management reform: a comparative analysis (Oxford University Press, 2011, latest edition).
